Buying Baby Strollers Guide For New Moms

Sunday, June 7th, 2009

The most important features to consider when buying a stroller are the safety features. Buying a new stroller makes it easier to check for various safety features required in baby strollers. First off check that the stroller has an adequate breaking system and also make sure that the proper safety harness is in place. Indeed, a 5 point safety harness is good. Check for crotch strap as well. A good crotch strap prevents your baby from sliding out of the stroller.

There are other features which are not critical but helpful like adjustable handles. You are more than likely not the only person who will be pushing the stroller so adjustable handles are very helpful. You may also want to consider a stroller made from washable material or has Scotch guard protection to limit staining. Newer model strollers are usually built with stain guard fabrics.

Also storage space is very important in a good stroller. You will need to have space for things such as a diaper bag, baby formula, as well as having extra room to carry any extra bags. After storage space consideration, your next feature check is how well will your stroller store? You definitely need one that will fold easily and opens easily because you will be moving that stroller in and out of the car or storing it in a closet, etc. You actually do not want to be fighting with your stroller every time you need to use it or store it.

Jogging Stroller Travel System

Sunday, June 7th, 2009

If you are looking for a jogging stroller travel system, it is an efficient strolling system for parents who have children under the age of twenty two months old. They are made for little babies that are too young to lift up their head. Babies need support at such a young age and owning a travel system will benefit both the baby and mother.

Not all jogging strollers are capable of being a travel system, most of your strollers on the market for runners are catered to older children. To retrieve your child in and out of the car can be risky, since babies are so fragile. The design of a travel system is simple. You can secure in place the base that gets strapped into the seat by the seat belt. When you are ready to put your child into the car its as easy as snapping your child carrier into the base. When you are ready to pull them out all you have to do is unsnap it out of the base and re snap it into the stroller. The in and out movement doesn’t make the baby uncomfortable, the baby will stay in his comfort zone and will not wake up, they will be padded and secured in the seat belt that comes with the carrier. Using these strolling systems really makes it easy for the parents. The child as he grows will eventually be put in a regular car seat.

There are other alternatives to the carrier. Now on the market there are bassinets that can be attached to a jogging stroller, but they are not as efficient as a travel system but they are sold as an accessory and will fit most jogging strollers.

Jogging strollers are made for running, but running with a newborn may not be the best method for strolling. Since the child is prone to injury it is better to have the child walked, initially at least for the first 22 months, then a time progresses and the child is strong enough to handle the road and you should be able to walk faster and even jog as the baby grows. Most jogging strollers are used as a walking stroller because of the smooth ride they offer. The large wheels really make a difference in the ride.

Baby Trend Expedition Jogging Stroller Stability

Friday, June 5th, 2009

For those of you that are considering a jogging stroller for your infant or toddler, you may have noticed the choice is more than overwhelming. Each different brand range and model seems to offer a variation on standard jogging stroller themes and features, which just adds to your selection confusion.

Baby Trend has a full selection of jogging strollers which have stood the test of time with parents and reviewers alike. Their flagship Baby Trend Expedition Jogging Stroller range includes the Expedition LX Single Jogger, the Expedition Double Jogging Stroller and the Expedition LE Jogger Travel System. In designing this range of joggers, Baby Trend has really kept focus on delivering features that parents demand and which are core necessities within this class of stroller, ensuring that the resulting jogger meets the demands of parents actually using it for jogging and off-road purposes.

One of the most important requirements for any manufacturer of jogging stroller is to get the wheels and tires right due to the fact that parents simply use jogging strollers differently and in different conditions than normal strollers. Something so seemingly obvious is neglected with so many jogging strollers available in the market today.

Jogging strollers need to travel at a greater speed than a normal stroller, meaning that the wheel design needs to be different to ensure maximum stability and emergency stopping. Baby Trend Expedition Jogging Strollers address these safety requirements in a number of different ways.

The rear wheel base itself is wider, acting similar to attaching training wheels on your toddler’s bicycle. Under cross wind or undulating terrain surfaces, this prevents the Expedition Jogger from tipping over. The overall streamlined design of the Expedition Jogger also adds to its stability capabilities.

The tires themselves are air filled and similar to bicycle tires which prevents the jogger from unduly lifting off from the ground when you hit a bump or stone. Solid rubber or solid compound tires magnify the ‘bounce’ on hitting a hard object.

What to Look for in a Baby Stroller

Friday, June 5th, 2009

If you get the wrong baby stroller for your personal lifestyle it could prove to be a costly mistake. Good baby strollers are quite an expensive purchase especially if you start looking at the initial investment for your newborn as one total outlay.

A good baby stroller will have a five point harness but as a minimum you want a crotch strap to prevent your babyfrom slipping out from under the safety belt and the breaking system is important if you don’t want to find your baby making a run for it!

You will spend many hours pushing your baby stroller so check out the height of the handles, adjustable is best so that both mum and dad can comfortably push the baby stroller.

I don’t think you need reminding that babies make a lot of mess so only buy a baby stroller with washable fabric unless      of  course you can afford to consider your stroller as  disposable.

For the more active parents there is always the jogging stroller but this does tend to be for those that can stretch to a second stroller. Jogging strollers have all-terrain suspension systems and work well on most surfaces but they don’t fold as well as other strollers and they are not recommended for newborn babies.

Baby Jogging Stroller

The Baby Jogging Stroller allows you to take care of the baby and jog at the same time. You can’t use the baby as an excuse to keep you from jogging. The baby jogging stroller, also called the running stroller, is designed to allow a parent to run and push the stroller at the same time.

Before you rush out and buy one though, the manufacturers recommend that the baby be at least six months old. This helps a new mother get outdoors with the baby and exercise at the same time to get back in shape. It allows the parents to spend quality time with the baby, bit still looking after their own fitness needs.

These strollers are really becoming big sellers because of the ease of use and the all terrain features. You are no longer confined to walking the baby in the park or on the sidewalk.

With these running strollers you can jog along the trails and even go up over hills with ease. The baby is strapped in and the two large wheels, similar to a bicycle help keep the stroller balanced as you are joging along.

Most baby joggin strollers have a canopy to protect the baby from the elements of the weather. The center of gravity is located in the rear wheel, so the stroller is easier to turn.

There is a lot of storage capacity, so you can store the diaper bag, extra clothes for you and baby as well as a snack or water bottles. As well the fabric is removable and machine
